    Apr 23, 2014
The Alma Mater returned to campus after spending more than 600 days in the Conservation of Sculpture & Objects Studio (CSOS) in Forest Park, IL. Prior to that trip, The Alma Mater had never left the Urbana campus. On April 8, 2014, the Alma Mater was lifted out of the CSOS, placed on a trailer, and stored in a secure facility overnight to prepare for transport back to campus. Once home to Alma Mater Plaza, reinstallation of the sculpture is anticipated to take approximately 2-4 hours.

  • Energy Performance Contracting

    Aug 09, 2013

Energy Performance Contracting projects at the University of Illinois began with the $20M Veterinary Medicine ESCO (Energy Service Company) and Oak Street Chiller Plant ESCO projects. The Vet Med ESCO project is expected to reduce the department’s energy usage in more than a half a million gross sq. ft. by 40% with an annual estimated cost avoidance or more than $800K. In an ESCO, the university enters into an Energy Performance Contract (EPC) with an accredited energy service company. This contract provides the services required to design and implement a comprehensive project at the customer facility, from the initial energy audit through long-term guarantee of project savings.
