Systems and Controls

Systems and Controls (S&C) is responsible for programming and maintaining the Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems across the campus. These systems and any associated alarm points are monitored and addressed in the Energy Management Control Center (EMCC), which is staffed Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. If an alarm goes off or a building automated system issue arises, the control center is responsible for dispatching the appropriate shop.

Systems and Controls also performs preventative maintenance on the building’s automated and HVAC systems. This initiative was implemented in 2014. This will allow EMS the capability of regularly performing scheduled work on most buildings on a 12- to 18-month basis. Systems & Controls, as well as the DDC electricians, also maintains the Andover Card Access system, used by many buildings on campus.
