Campus Code Compliance & Fire Safety
Campus Code Compliance & Fire Safety (CCC&FS) manages the university's fire and life safety programs and the existing building and fire code compliance functions. The associate directors are designated as the Campus Authority having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for the application of the university's life safety, fire and construction codes. Reported fires are always made visible in the annual fire safety report, and all work done by the department complies with facilities standards.
CCC&FS administers:
the Intergovernmental Agreement for Fire Protection Services, a campus fire safety program
the campus inspection and testing program for fixed fire protection systems
CCC&FS also provides plan review services for campus construction projects to ensure accessibility and safety guidelines are met.
Fire Extinguishers
If you find a fire extinguisher is damaged or needs recharging, remove it from service and immediately report it to the F&S Service Office at 217-333-0340. Online fire extinguisher training is available at the following link:
https://ovcrportal.research.illinois.edu/Training/Overview.aspx?TrainingId=277. This annual training is available to anyone with a netID; there is also an option to create a public account for those individuals who do not receive a netID.
Live Fire Extinguisher Training, including a simulator demonstration, is available at several locations and times on campus. Please review the attached PDF for times, locations, and links for registration.

Fire Log
A fire log of all campus fires is maintained by Campus Code Compliance & Fire Safety. The log may be viewed at Facilities & Services, Code Compliance & Fire Safety, Physical Plant Services Building, 1501 S. Oak Street, Champaign, IL 61820 during the hours of 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. M-F.
