Engineering Quality Assurance

The Engineering Quality Assurance department ensures that university facilities are designed and constructed to standards consistent with a world class institution. The department is comprised of two units: Design Review and Commissioning & Inspection. Each is a diverse team consisting of experienced architects, engineers, and construction experts.

Design Review

The Design Review unit performs independent reviews of projects' architectural and engineering designs to ensure compliance with project scope and user requirements, and adherence to university standards. The unit also confirms campus energy conservation and sustainability goals are being met.

Commissioning & Inspection

Commissioning & Inspection teams serve three functions:

  • independent inspection of construction
  • commissioning of building systems
  • warranty phase administration

The Commissioning teams initiate and document the commissioning process and verify that all building systems are fully operational under all conditions.
