Brown has more than 25 years of architectural experience in both the public and private sectors. He obtained a Masters of Architecture from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, is NCARB certified and is professionally licensed in both Nevada and Florida. In Las Vegas, Brown had the opportunity to gain experience in many project types ranging from hotel entertainment, municipality, K-12 and higher education. Before joining the university, Brown served for the building departments of both the City of Champaign and City of Las Vegas, as well as a Project Manager for City of Las Vegas Capital Development department. Brown is a licensed Architect and an ICC Building Official, an ICC Building Plans Examiner, and an ICC Accessibility Plans Examiner.
Sperl has a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a Masters in Business Administration from Northern Illinois University. In her past, she has worked within the architecture and code fields in both the private and public sectors. Katie and her husband look forward to returning to Champaign after meeting here during the early 90’s; many of their family and friends also attended the University of Illinois over the years. Sperl is an Illinois Licensed Architect, an ICC Building Official, an ICC Fire Marshall, and an ICC Master Code Professional.
