On Monday, August 24, Wellness Support Associates (WSAs) will be stationed at primary entrances of campus facilities where in-person instruction takes place. They will check the building entry status of students, faculty, and staff (via the Safer Illinois app or i-card boarding pass) and supervise visitors and guests requesting access inside of university buildings.
Facility liaisons are specifically asked to place temporary signage on doors where WSAs will not be located, advising people on how to enter the building. This will help individuals identify the appropriate WSA doors and entry points.
Several signs are available in the WSA folder for download at https://uofi.box.com/v/COVID19campussignage. The designs feature main entry and directional versions, including ones with space to add additional details. There is also a corresponding Safer Illinois app/i-card boarding pass sign.
Also, please note the following about the WSA program launch:
- WSA screening areas have been designated at one or two entrances (depending on the size of the building). Where possible, an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) entrance or multiple doors have been chosen as an entry point for each applicable building.
- Some buildings on campus without in-person instruction may have departmental WSAs at designated entry points of their choosing. If you work in a building without in-person instruction, please check with your unit or department for further details regarding their permitted entry points into the building(s).
