Alpha Phi Omega thankful for F&S BSWs

A special delivery came to F&S last week, and it’s something Randy Kornegay, associate director of Operations, Maintenance & Alterations, Building Services, will never forget.

Kornegay oversees hundreds of Building Service Workers that operate in shifts around the clock to maintain university facilities, ensuring they are clean. Their hard work was recently recognized when the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega delivered a basket of nearly 100 thank-you cards, each handwritten and drawn and accompanied by miniature chocolates.

“This is historic. It’s something that nobody has ever done for our BSWs,” said Kornegay. “These are handwritten, and APO put a lot of thought and care into that. That really deepened my appreciation for what they did.”

Touched by the kind action of the fraternity, Kornegay immediately read and enjoyed every card.

“This is so important to me, and we’re so appreciative,” said Kornegay.
