2017 Campus Summer Construction Project Map and Summaries

CHAMPAIGN, IL – Substantial completion of the Natural History Building and major renovations to the Veterinary Medicine Basic Sciences Building, Everitt Laboratory, Noyes Laboratory, and the Armory highlight the more than 50 capital projects transforming educational and research spaces on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus this summer.

The collection of projects will provide accessibility improvements, restroom remodels, HVAC enhancements, roof replacements, LED upgrades, and classroom and laboratory modernizations. A complete map of project locations and descriptions is available at: http://go.fs.illinois.edu/summerprojects.

Working with professional services consultants, Facilities & Services develops May-August construction phasing for campus building and infrastructure projects when practical to minimize potential inconveniences for students, faculty, and staff. However, each project and its scope are unique, and construction work on the Urbana campus occurs throughout the year.

MCORE PROJECT UPDATE
Multimodal Corridor Enhancement (MCORE) Project work on Green and White Streets will intensify through the summer with significant vehicular and pedestrian traffic impacts expected, including detours and street and sidewalk closures near the Illini Union. Detailed construction phasing information for projects 1 and 2 is available at: http://www.mcoreproject.com.

The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD), the City of Champaign, the City of Urbana, and the university are partnering to enhance mobility choices, improve infrastructure, and promote critical linkages through MCORE.
