May 09, 2016
CHAMPAIGN, IL – New doors and entryways for the Undergraduate Library, gallery renovations at Krannert Art Museum, and upgraded balcony seating in Huff Hall are several of the projects that will be completed this summer on the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign campus.

A complete map and descriptions of the more than 40 construction projects underway during the period. Other highlighted projects include the Natural History Building and Everitt Laboratory renovations and the sixth, and final, phase of State Farm Center renaissance.

The expected completion of the Chemistry Annex renovations will be a significant milestone for the Urbana campus and will provide transformative learning spaces for future education and research. Student support through the Academic Facilities Maintenance Fund Assessment (AFMFA) has been instrumental to the success of this Instructional Space Improvement Initiative project. Additional AFMFA projects are helping address deferred maintenance through roof replacements, restroom renovations, HVAC upgrades, and life safety upgrades in multiple buildings.

Street Projects
Major road improvements will take place on First Street and Fourth to upgrade pavement condition and enhance pedestrian access. The work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 16, following Commencement Weekend, and be completed prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
