Final MCORE Project Designs Selected & Available

CHAMPAIGN, IL (September 10, 2015) –   A transit boarding island on Green Street, reconfigured Illini Union vehicle entrance and parking, all-way pedestrian crossing, and protected bicycle lanes are some of the new features to be developed by the Multimodal Corridor Enhancement (MCORE) Project starting in 2016.

The designs will be officially presented at a MCORE Project open house on Thursday, September 17 in the Alice Campbell Alumni Center from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. MCORE team members will staff informational displays for the five specific project areas and be available to answer questions.

The Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD), City of Champaign, City of Urbana, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are partnering to improve mobility in the core of our community through a federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grant.
