Bousfield Hall is cited as one of the notable projects to earn recent certification in Illinois.
The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) released its annual ranking of the Top 10 States in the nation for LEED®, the world’s most widely used and recognized green building rating system, with the state of Illinois placing first. The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Bousfield Hall is cited as one of the notable projects to earn recent certification in Illinois.
In August 2014, Bousfield Hall became the third university facility to achieve LEED Platinum, the U.S. Green Building Council’s highest certification level, along with Lincoln Hall and the Business Instructional Facility (BIF). BIF was the first facility to begin the LEED certification process earning platinum in December 2009.
