A new shuttle service is coming to help link the Urbana and Chicago campuses of the University of Illinois. The festivities begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3, at Levis Faculty Center (919 W. Illinois), and Vice Chancellor for Research Susan Martinis and President Tim Killeen will offer remarks at 9:15. These short ceremonies will be followed by light refreshments and a chance to check out one of the new buses at an open house that lasts until 1 p.m.
The new 18-seat buses offer onboard Wi-Fi, workstations, and restrooms, providing a convenient option for those who travel between campuses. The shuttle service will make its inaugural run on October 31, with daily round trips. For more information, visit https://www.uillinois.edu/uiride.
