CHAMPAIGN, IL – F&S, in conjunction with the Champaign Fire Department, will conduct a spill containment exercise on Monday, November 19, from 7:00 a.m. to noon.
This year’s mock scenario will take place at the north end of Abbott Power Plant on South Oak Street, and then the simulated spill will travel through storm sewers toward the Boneyard Creek. The exercise is required annually by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and satisfies Abbott Power Plant’s Facility Response Plan requirements.
