Help protect Champaign-Urbana's waterways at the 13th annual Boneyard Creek Community Day on Saturday, April 7. The event brings together volunteers of all ages to help clean up local lakes and streams of litter and invasive species. Work will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at noon, followed by lunch and entertainment at Scott Park.
The last several years, the event has featured more than 500 volunteers covering approximately 1460 acres. Boneyard Creek Community Day is also a Best Management Practice (BMP) under the Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System, (MS4) Permit and part of the university’s Stormwater Management Plan.
