Illinois American Water crews are responding to a water leak that occurred on South Goodwin Avenue, just south of West Oregon Street (located near the Chemical and Science Life Science Laboratories – 601 and 602 South Goodwin Avenue).
Please avoid the area if possible as repair work begins this morning. Your help notifying others, whose travel may be impacted, is appreciated. If necessary, updates on the incident will be provided.
UPDATES
4:00 p.m. (Dec. 18) - South Goodwin Avenue, from West Oregon Street to West Nevada Street, will be closed as crews continue to perform repair work into the evening.
7:00 a.m. (Dec. 19) - Northbound lane remains closed.
10:00 a.m. (Dec. 19) - All lanes on South Goodwin Avenue are open.
