With a major winter storm predicted to bring significant snowfall and below freezing temperatures to Central Illinois this weekend, Facilities & Services (F&S) continues preparations for snow and ice removal and will monitor conditions, in conjunction with the Division of Public Safety.
The extreme temperatures being forecasted also have the potential to exceed the designed operating conditions for building heating systems. F&S is requesting your cooperation to help protect facilities by making sure exterior windows and doors are closed.
All F&S crews will work as quickly as practical to expedite removal and keep the campus open and accessible for students, faculty, and staff.
If assigned parking areas have yet to be plowed following a winter storm, please use the designated emergency lots and Champaign-Urbana Mass Transit District (MTD) service. (For a list of emergency parking lots see: http://www.fs.illinois.edu/services/maintenance/snow-removal.) Please do not park in unplowed lots as it further complicates and delays snow removal efforts.
