Allan M. Stratman will start his new position at F&S on September 3, 2013.
CHAMPAIGN, IL (June 11, 2013) Allan Stratman has been named executive director of Facilities and Services (F&S) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Mr. Stratman has an extensive background serving in senior executive positions in the United States Navy Civil Engineer Corps.
Mr. Stratman most recently has worked as executive officer for Naval Facilities Engineering Command & Navy Region Southwest in San Diego where he led more than 3,000 personnel and directed the comprehensive delivery of all operations and maintenance services supporting $3.1B in plant property, for 20 Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force installations across six states. Stratman has completed tours, deployments, and assignments to Iraq, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Fiji, Guam, Spain, the Philippines, Illinois, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Washington DC.
Mr. Stratman was born and raised in Springfield, South Dakota and is a graduate of South Dakota State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. In 1986 following Officer Candidate School, Stratman was commissioned an Ensign in the Navy. Stratman earned his master’s degree in 1993 at the University of Texas at Austin in and has a Big Ten background from the Executive Management Program in the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
