Video Showcases Energy Production and Conservation On Campus
CHAMPAIGN, IL (April 17, 2013) –The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has reduced overall energy consumption by 28% since FY08. Energy efficiency improvements and conservation work performed by Facilities & Services (F&S) have been key contributors to this success.

A new video produced by F&S provides a look inside energy and utilities on the Urbana campus while featuring information about Retrocommissioning (RCx), ESCOs (Energy Service Companies), renewable energy, and plans for shaping the university’s energy future.

The current energy consumption reduction exceeds the Illinois Climate Action Plan (iCAP) target goal of 20% by FY15 and is approaching the 30% goal set for FY20.
